This campaign brings together simple, practical tips for pedestrians of all ages, as well as drivers, cyclists, runners, and dog walkers to help keep our streets safe and accessible for everyone.

Core Pedestrian Safety Tips

  • Cross only at intersections or marked crosswalks
  • Make eye contact with drivers before stepping out
  • Stay alert: remove headphones and avoid phones when crossing
  • Walk facing traffic if no sidewalk is available
  • Wear bright or reflective clothing in low light
  • Never assume a driver sees you
