Peterson Auto Body Helps Drive Successful Weekend Car Show and Community Colouring Contest

Perfect weather and a strong community turnout helped make this year’s Boogie in the Badlands car show weekend one of the biggest yet, with local businesses and organizations playing a major role in the event’s success.

Among the supporters was Peterson Auto Body, which partnered with event organizers to sponsor activities throughout the weekend, including a colouring contest that gave younger attendees a chance to get involved in the festivities and win prizes.

The annual event which took place from May 22-24, 2026, brought hundreds of classic cars, trucks, and specialty vehicles to Drumheller’s downtown streets, drawing participants and visitors from across Western Canada. Organizers reported more than 380 registered vehicles this year, making it the largest edition of the show to date.

Festivities began Friday evening with a scenic cruise through the region, taking drivers along Highway 10X and through Wayne before the weekend’s main events on Saturday.

Downtown Drumheller was transformed into a showcase of vintage and custom vehicles, while local vendors, live entertainment, and family-friendly attractions kept crowds busy throughout the day. The True North Pin Up Contest featured 14 contestants, and live music performances added to the atmosphere at the downtown plaza.

Awards were presented in several categories recognizing standout vehicles and participants. Another crowd favourite was the motor build competition, where two students from Drumheller Valley Secondary School captured top honours with the fastest completion time.

The weekend wrapped up with a final cruise to the Bleriot Ferry area and a community barbecue in Rosedale.

Community organizations including Girl Guides, KidSport, and the Homestead Antique Museum were among those benefiting from the event.
