ATA Trade Show and Collision Olympics

ATA Trade Show and Collision Olympics

The Automotive Trades Association (ATA) Manitoba’s trade show and Collision Olympics took place on October 4th, 2024 at Canad Inns Polo Park.

The event invites participants to enjoy some great food, win prizes and meet industry members.

The highlight of the day, however, was the Collision Olympics, which sees industry members compete against one another in a series of industry-related tasks.

Representing Lift Auto Group, Vice President, Koos Reineking was in attendance “The ATA Trade Show is one of the industry’s most well-attended events and we are always excited to catch up with fellow industry members, some who I have known for a long time.”

During the afternoon, groups of students were given the opportunity to showcase their skills and were invited to attend the Youth Attraction Effort, which aims to introduce students and youth to the opportunities offered by the collision repair industry.

Like other trades, collision repair is struggling to attract youth to the trade.

Hoping to inspire the 365 students in attendance, booths at the trade show were set up to showcase areas like calibration, software, dent repair, supply chain, estimating and painting.

“We appreciated the opportunity to participate in the Youth Attraction Effort. We met many promising young people who we hope will consider a career in collision repair in the future”, says Koos Reineking.

The event attracted the attention of Global News reports who visited with vendors, spoke to students and shared the content here:
